American Fork Police Department’s K9 Zeke received a protective vest thanks to a charitable donation.

The non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., donated the bullet and stab proof vest with the embroidered sentiment, “Honoring those who served and sacrificed."

The cost of a single protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950.

The program is open to certified dogs actively employed in the United States with law enforcement, or related agencies, and are least 20 months of age.

New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the U.S.
