UPDATE: (4/17/18, 4:45 p.m.) -- Cache County Sheriff's Office has identified the body found by a hiker in the foothills above Providence City as 19-year old Kyle Ryan Burton.

Burton was last seen in River Heights City on Nov. 28, 2017. Cache County Sheriff's Office issued the following statement:

(KUTV) -- Cache County Sheriff's Office reports a body has been recovered from a draw north of Providence Canyon.

Lt. Brian Locke told 2News the sheriff's office was notified just after 2 p.m., Sunday, that a hiker had discovered a body on private property in the foothills above Sherwood Drive.

"We believe it’s a male," Locke said. "However, it was actually probably a miracle that he was even found where he was at. He was in some rocks under a tree."

Cache County Search and Rescue recovered the body that has been taken to the state medical examiner's office for identification.

Locke says the death does not appear recent. There is no indication how long the body was in the area of obvious signs of what caused death, he added.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
