(KUTV) A Nov. 7 officer-involved shooting in West Valley has been ruled justified by the Salt Lake County District Attorney.
Nobody was killed in the shooting that happened at an apartment complex when, according to Wednesday's press release, two juveniles used a gun to try to rob off-duty officer, Aaron Weeks, when they passed him between two buildings at the complex.
Weeks drew his own weapon and returned fire, and also took a round in the foot.
The two teens later showed up at an area hospital with gunshot wounds.
According to Wednesday's press release, the evidence collected at the scene of the shooting support the officer's account of what happened.
West Valley City Police Department officer Aaron Weeks was a part-time security officer for an apartment complex where he lived and was called from his home to investigate somebody sleeping in a stairwell.
