(KUTV) -- The Tooele County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting at a trailer park that happened Wednesday morning.

Around 12:30 a.m., Tooele City Police were called out to the Mountain West Medical Center after a woman had been severely beaten.

Two officers went to the front door of the residence at 126 W. 860 North while a third officer took position at the back door.

As officers tried to summon the occupants of the home to the front door the suspect, Chris Ono, exited the back door, police say.

He then pointed a pistol in the direction of the officer, who discharged several rounds toward Ono. Ono then surrendered. Neither Ono or the officer were injured during the confrontation.

As per protocol, the officer-involved shooting was turned over to the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office recovered Ono's loaded weapon near the back door where he surrendered.

Ono is a parolee. He was booked into the Tooele County Jail on an Adult Parole & Probation hold pending domestic and weapons charges, police said.
