A 5-year-old was struck by a car in Centerville on her way to school Friday morning, according to police.
At approximately 8:37 a.m., the girl was walking to Reading Elementary School with her older sister.
A Chevrolet Suburban allegedly struck the 5-year-old girl.
The driver says she was traveling about 20 miles per hour, according to police.
The driver claims she didn't see the 5-year-old, but heard a thud.
The older sister witnessed the incident.
She have been flown to Primary Children's Hospital.
The child is going in and out of consciousness, police say. The child's exact condition is unknown.
The incident occurred near 2025 N. Frontage Road.
