Pole Creek Fire impacts mail delivery; evacuees advised to pick up mail at Post Office

(KUTV) -- Residents who have been evacuated due to the Pole Creek Fire will most likely not find their mail at their home address.

The U.S. Postal Service is advising people living in the Elk Ridge, Payson Canyon and Woodland Hills areas to pick up their mail at the following locations.


Evacuees from Elk Ridge and Payson Canyon

Location: Payson Post Office.

Address: 955 E. 100 N.

Weekday hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Weekend hours: Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m

Evacuees from Woodland Hills

Location: Salem Post Office

Weekday hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Weekend hours: Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon

Phone number: 801-423-7894


Customers will be asked for their photo identification when picking up their mail, according to a press release.

The postal service will continue to deliver mail as usual in areas where it is safe to do so.
