A young teen was nearly kidnapped at a UTA stop in West Valley City Tuesday, according to police.

The 13-year-old boy exited a UTA bus at the West Valley City Central station. He told police a man on the bus had been making him feel uncomfortable.

When the boy stepped off the bus, the man followed him and grabbed his arm, police say.

The teen managed to get away and boarded a bus heading to Millcreek. When he arrived, he contacted the Unified Police Department, who then alerted the West Valley City Police Department.

Police say the red marks on the boy's arm support his story.

The alleged attempted kidnapper was described as an African American male wearing a black T-shirt with a white cross, has a full sleeve tattoo on his left arm and a distinct dead, black front tooth.

Police are expected to give more information and provide video surveillance as soon as Wednesday.
