Police: Man wanted for robbing Sandy veterinary hospital and pet groomer

Sandy City Police Department is currently investigating a robbery at a veterinary hospital and pet groomer that occurred on Friday night.

According to police, the robbery occurred on Friday night at approximately 10:43 p.m. at the Alta Veterinary Hospital and Pet Groomery located in Sandy. Police say that a man broke into the hospital through the window and broke into the groomer by kicking down the side door. He then rummaged through drawers and attempted to break into locked cabinets, broke a donation box, and stole the money inside of it before leaving.

It is unknown if the suspect broke into the veterinary hospital or the groomer first.

Employee Lisa Whiteley said that the suspect stole $200 worth of cash donations that were intended for the Road Home.
