(KUTV) -- Police are searching for a murder suspect accused of killing a victim in a parking lot in Weber County.
Keshaun Puente has been charged with murder and three counts of felony discharge of a firearm, court documents state. He has yet to be arrested. However, a warrant for Puente's arrest was issued on Wednesday.
On June 13, police officers responded to reports of a gunshot wound at 630 E. 23rd St.
The victim was transported to McKay Dee Hospital where he later died.
Several witnesses near the scene told police they saw two men standing in a parking lot. It looked like they were arguing. One man, later identified as Puente, pulled a gun and shot the victim, court documents state.
Witnesses said Puente then drove away with a woman in a car they believed to be a silver Hyundai Veloster.
On May 30, an officer with the South Ogden Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the same vehicle. Puente was driving the car. Police later discovered that the vehicle was registered to Puente's 17-year-old girlfriend, court documents state.
Officers spoke with Puente's grandparents and watched surveillance video from the shooting. Each account corroborated the witnesses' stories.
A few days later, the Puente's girlfriend's car was found in North Las Vegas.
Police made contact with the 17-year-old on June 23. She told police she was in the parking lot with Puente the night of the incident. She said she heard approximately three gunshots before she got in the car and drove away.
The girlfriend also told police Puente and her went to Las Vegas after the shooting. She returned from the trip the day officials contacted her, but claimed Puente was still in Las Vegas, court documents state.
