(KUTV) Stan Lee, the comic book writer and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics will not be coming to Salt Lake Comic Con's 2017 FanX this weekend due to the 94-year-old star's health.
The news came Friday afternoon after FanX had begun, but there are still plenty of panels and cosplay and booths to see and be a part of. Sam J. Jones, Cary Elwes, Bonnie Wright, John Rhys-Davies, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Verne Troyer, Wallace Shawn, and Emilie de Ravin were just some of the many stars attending the event. "Stan Lee is postponing his last Salt Lake Comic Con appearance due to his health," Salt Lake Comic Con posted in a tweet on Friday at about 2:15 p.m. " We wish him a speedy recovery and hop to have him back soon."
If you paid to see Stan Lee you have three options:

After a visit with a doctor, Lee was advised to stay home and rest.
On Friday morning, Lee was advised by a doctor, after a follow up visit, "to rest and recuperate rather than risk getting worse," Salt Lake Comic Con wrote on it's Facebook page. "We wish him a speedy recovery and though we are disappointed, we want what is best for Stan, our dear friend."
