A woman who was found dead in South Salt Lake on Monday has been identified as 23-year-old Kaitlyn Barron of San Antonio, Texas.
Police announced the identification in a press release on Wednesday. They state Barron died from blunt force trauma.
Evidence from the scene was submitted for forensic analysis, and the investigation into Barron's murder is ongoing, police said.

The body of an unidentified woman was found in South Salt Lake Monday morning.
According to the South Salt Lake Police Department, the death may be a homicide.
A witness called police at approximately 7:30 a.m. to report the body had been found in the back parking lot of 2550 S. 300 West.
As of 10:30 a.m., investigators do not know the woman's identity, cause of death, extent of her injuries or her age. They say she may be Caucasian.
Crime scene investigators are at the scene.
