(KUTV) — Troopers from the Utah Highway Patrol will have a heavy presence on the roads this weekend.
With March Madness in town and St. Patrick's Day on Friday, police will be out in full force looking for drunk drivers.
The DUI blitz begins Friday.
More than 200 extra officers will be on shift patrolling Utah roads. Officers from around the state who are helping.
Last year, 34 people were arrested for DUI on St. Patrick's Day. Police say none of those arrests resulted in crashes. They hope to keep it the same this year.
Police say, "We will find them and stop them from hurting other people."
Enjoy the events, they say, but do it responsibly.
