A petition that started out as a joke now has more than 90,000 people supporting it.

The petition on MoveOn.org is asking for part of 5th Avenue in New York City to be renamed as “President Barack H. Obama Avenue.” If the name between 56th and 57th streets is changed, that would mean Trump Tower in Manhattan would be located on “President Barack H. Obama Avenue.”

More than 90,000 signatures have been acquired as of Wednesday morning.

The petitions states it needs 100,000 to be presented to New York City Mayor Bil de Blasio and the city council.

Elizabeth Rowin, the creator of the petition, told Newsweek that the petition started out as a joke.

"I honestly started it as a joke. I saw a comedian joke about how it would make Trump so mad if it was named after former President Obama and thought why not," she said.

The 56-year-old told Newsweek the city should honor the president responsible for taking out Osama Bin Laden, being “scandal-free” and “bringing back the economy.”
