Rap and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg is helping to "save the planet" in a new commercial focusing on "enjoying the small meaningful things" in life by promoting a product that claims to help eliminate single-use plastic bottles.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., is promoting SodaStream, which dubs itself as "the leading sparkling water brand" in an ad focused on the "small things" being the "most meaningful."
The COVID-era commercial, which you can watch below, encourages small, meaningful family gatherings.
In a news release, SodaStream stated:
SodaStream also delivers its environmental message when Snoop is joined by an animated sea turtle to call on people to make the small change to reusable for a big impact on helping our planet. One reusable SodaStream bottle can save-up to thousands of single-use plastic bottles."
"I enjoy a little baking," says Snoop Dogg, who isn't talking about marijuana, as he bakes a gingerbread house with his family in the ad. Following the example of Eddie Murphy in "Nutty Professor II: The Klumps," Snoop Dogg plays each member of his family in the commercial with his face imposed on each member.
Mr. Dogg says:
I love my SodaStream so it was natural for me to partner up with them for this campaign. They make a great product and a big difference in the world. I am happy to help spread the love!"
Snoop Dogg ends the ad by hanging out with a sea turtle and pointing out that one SodaStream can save the planet from thousands of plastic bottles.
Snoop Dogg ends the ad by saying: "I just saved the planet."
SodaStream Global CMO Karin Schifter Maor says:
At SodaStream we always encourage people to make a positive change. This year we really went all in to deliver a campaign everyone can relate to, a campaign on what’s important. SodaStream is the ultimate small change to reduce single-use plastic waste, and Snoop Dogg is a great partner to help widely spread this message in a fun way.”
