A Twitter user said he would get a tattoo of Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles' face on his body if Jazz star Donovan Mitchell would like his Tweet.
The user "John Samson" Tweeted:
If this tweet gets a like from @spidadmitchell I will get @Joeingles7 face tattooed on me. Love from straya
Yahoo Australia identified the Tweeter as 20-year-old Sam Johnson a student from Sydney.
Johnson's account "John Samson" only has 63 followers at the time of publication.
Joe Ingles wasn't going to let this opportunity go, so he Tweeted to Mitchell asking him to like Samson's Tweet.
Mitchell promptly liked Samson's tweet.
He contnued by Tweeting:
PLEASE DO THIS!
Some questioned whether Johnson would actually go through with his tattoo, to which Johnson replied: "Watch me."
According to Yahoo Australia, Johnson told them he was sitting in class with a friend talking about basketball.
Johnson told Yahoo:
He just said, ‘why not do a tweet to your favourite player, I bet he won’t respond’.
I said to him, ‘I bet he will.'
High-profile NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski Tweeted he bet Donovan Mitchell would even fly down to Australia to "paint it himself."
No word yet on when Johnson will get the tattoo, but he told Yahoo:
It’s definitely between the thumbs up or the headband Joe from the playoffs last year.
