(KUTV) Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell has been delivering this season, after the Jazz traded for him on draft day, but one of his best moments so far was off the court.

Mitchell, averaging just under 15 points per game, scored big by giving a new car to his mother and explaining on his social media accounts how much it meant to him.

"Words can’t describe how happy I am to be able to give you this car! I remember listening to a song walking around Louisville after being in the gym at 2 am and I texted you and said said I’m gonna make sure you never have to work again!" Mitchell wrote on Instagram.

Mitchel played his basketball at Louisville and is from Grenwich, Connecticticut, where he recorded the videos of the happy occasion. He wrote on Twitter:

No better feeling than this man! I love you Mom thank you for your sacrifice ...

He chose an Audi as the gift while declaring his love for his mom.

"I love you so much thank you for everything you have done for me," he wrote.

According to inside, Ben Simmons leads all rookie socring with 18.1 points per game. Behind him is University of Utah alum Kyle Kuzma at 16.4 and then Mitchell, who currently has 14.9 points per game average.

Mitchell is second on the Jazz roster in points-per-game average, trailing only Rodney Hood.

The Jazz are 7-10 and are currently in tenth place in the NBA Western Conference standings, just out of the playoff race.
